OPEN PLAY RULES
Queue System:
- Players must form a queue to use the badminton courts.
- The first players or group in line will have priority for the next available court.
- Playing SINGLES is only permitted when there are no other players waiting in the queue.
Game Duration:
- Each player or team is allowed a maximum of 2 games or 20 minutes of playtime, whichever comes first.
- There is NO decider game, even if the 2 games end in a tie.
Scoring System:
- Rally point scoring will be used.
- Matches are played to 21 points, with a 2-point lead required to win.
- If the score reaches 20-20, play continues until one player or team gains a 2-point lead, with a maximum of 30 points.
Court Proximity:
- Players should stay close to the designated waiting area when their turn is approaching to ensure smooth transitions.
Post-Game Etiquette:
- After playing, players must leave the court and join the queue if they wish to play again, regardless of whether they win or lose.
- Shake hands with opponents as a sign of good sportsmanship.
Court Sharing:
- Courts must be shared respectfully. Players should avoid monopolizing the court and allow others to play within the allotted time.
- If you prefer to play with your own group without interruptions, we recommend booking a court privately.
Appropriate Attire:
- Players must wear appropriate sportswear and non-marking indoor shoes to ensure safety and protect the court surface.
- A fine of $200 will be imposed for non-compliance with the attire requirements.
Conflict Resolution:
- Any disputes or issues should be reported to the center staff.
- The staff has the authority to enforce these rules and handle conflicts.
Management Authority:
- The center management reserves the right to modify or update these rules as needed.
- All players are expected to comply with these rules and any additional instructions given by the staff.
Policy Violation Provisions:
- First Violation : A verbal warning will be issued by the center staff. The player will be informed of the specific policy that was violated and reminded of the rules.
- Second Violation : The player may be temporarily suspended from the court for a period of 10-15 minutes. During this time, they will be asked to sit out and may not join the queue for the duration of the suspension.
- Third Violation : The player may be suspended from the court for the remainder of the day. They will be required to leave the premises and may be asked to meet with management to discuss the repeated violations.
- Repeated Violations : For ongoing or severe violations, the player may face a long-term suspension, a ban from using the facilities, or termination of their membership.
